Grateful for: Kinder Mums

February 26, 2011

I am very grateful this week for the Kinder Mums from our kinder last year.

It was my Little Man’s 6th birthday the week before last (17th Feb) and hubby and I in our infinite wisdom agreed to host a party at home for 16 kids. I thought we got out of it ok as it was not the whole kinder class of last year (as school just started this year and he has not formed firm friendships as yet).

It was a simple party, no themes or anything, simple party food, plenty of room outside for cricket and football and design your own cupcakes. Easy.

Argh! Not really!  Thank goodness for the other mums that come and stayed as they helped me soooo much. There were tears outside, one  of the mums went out to referree. There was lemonade spilt in the hallway, one of the mums cleaned it up. The boys got dirty playing outside, one of the mums helped out washing hands in the bathroom.

And that was the first 15 minutes!

I am so grateful that some of the mums stayed for the party, they helped hubby and me so much. They were fantastic. Thank you kinder mums!

I am linking up to Maxabella Loves… for her weekly grateful blog hop. You should too. It warms the little old heart reading what others are grateful for.

So great you have such supportive mummy friends. Party’s are wonderful fun but such a lot of work! We have a 5th b’day next month, and a 3rd the following and then a 7th in June. Better start thinking about them soon. :O) Cazx

I loved it when mums stayed with my eldest son. It made it easier to cope with those little dramas that crop up and the trouble makers ;).
I made sure I had good food to entice mums to stay.
In my experience a limit of 6-8 kids (including birthday child but not siblings) is a good number. We have a double 5th birthday in July -so I am starting to find ideas.

Mum support is essential for survival through the maze that is parenthood. x

You are a brave woman… pre-school is just a little bit soon for such a huge party! But you made it thanks to the other mums. Just the way it should be. x
